THE FACILITY
Designed by Andrew Krivonos and built entirely by the staff, The Brewery recording complex was intended to provide a comfortable, quiet and elegent environment for creativity. The Brewery's control room and each recording room is fully floated apart from each other to increase sound isolation, yet is spacious enough for nearly every project.
Our large control room is one of the best mix rooms in New York. It provides excellent acoustics and monitoring for the engineer and producer. The room is live enough not to fatigue ears but controlled enough to increase intelligability. The three tier seating makes listening accurately possible from more positions and allows for seating of larger groups. A flat panel television also serves as a great visual aid and a skylight provides a great natural source of energy.
With two isolation booths, our clients have greater freedom to isolate instruments and control their sound. Each of these rooms is acoustically treated and fully floated. The large live room is great for tracking drums, large instruments and even full bands. The isolation booth is completely floated from the rest of the facility and serves as an excellent vocal room.
There is plenty of space just to lounge out as well. Our reception area greets you and further leads into our client lounge which has a fully operational bar. You can watch digital cable on our HDTV, take advantage of our WIFI, or relax on our couches. Finally, A large outdoor patio area allows you to be outside without ever leaving the building. |
OUR GOAL
The Brewery Recording Studio was formed on the principles of providing the very best in recording quality and service at an affordable rate. We strive to create an ideal hybrid studio environment: combining the elegance and professionalism of a commercial facility and the comfort and familiarity of a production space.
HISTORY
In Fall of 2005, Engineer Andrew Krivonos opened Southfall Studios in the Park Slope, Brooklyn as a private mix room for his recording projects. Word of mouth spread immediately and by 2007, the facility was not enough to meet the demands of clientele.
In April 2008, Andrew and Studio Tech Joseph Russo partnered to transfer the studio to a new facility in an old microbrewery in Bushwick, changing its name to The Brewery. Meanwhile, Producer Dot Da Genius was developing his production company, Headbanga Muzik, with artist Kid Cudi out of his home studio in Brooklyn.
The Brewery moved to its newest facility at 910 Grand Street in May 2009, joining forces with Dot and his production team. The success of its staff and the incredible growth of the organization is quickly making this company one of the highest profile studio environments in New York. |
